So, who owns the Milwaukee Bucks? Wes Edens and Marc Lasry are the owners of the Bucks franchise. They bought the team in 2014 for $550 million. Prior to owning the Bucks, Edens was a co-founder of Fortress Investment Group. Lasry was also a founder of Avenue Capital Group. The two have been close friends for years and business partners on several occasions and are also both originally from Wisconsin.

Edens and Lasry are committed to keeping the Bucks in Milwaukee and have invested significant resources into the team and the arena. In 2018, they helped finance a $524 million renovation of the Bradley Center, now known as the Fiserv Forum. Prior to Edens and Lasry, the team was owned by Mark Attanasio, who purchased the team in 2005. He is a former investment banker who is a successful businessman and philanthropist.

According to Forbes, as of the 2022-2023 season, the Milwaukee Bucks are worth $2.3 Billion dollars. This makes them the 11th most valuable National Basketball Association (NBA) franchise.
