The length of a traditional Super Bowl halftime show usually clocks in at around 25-30 minutes. However, some have been known to run longer (or shorter) depending on the performers and the overall production.
Producers must consider which songs are going to be performed during the setlist (which may include featured artists or special dance numbers). All of this takes considerable time because they need to ensure that the audio/visual elements are properly integrated so that audiences get an immersive experience when tuning in from home.

Since its inception in 1967, the Super Bowl halftime show has been integral to the game’s festivities. Over the years, it has evolved from a simple marching band performance to a highly anticipated event featuring some of the biggest names in music.
While the halftime show is now considered must-see TV, it wasn’t always such a highly anticipated event. In fact, it wasn’t until 1975 that it began to take on its modern form. That year, NFL officials decided to book popular soul singer Marvin Gaye to perform during the intermission.
