David Krejci & Patrice Bergeron’s Latest Injury Updates For Games 4 & 5

Bruins Krejci

Bruins Win & David Krejci Injury Update

David Krejci was absent for the Boston Bruins Game 3 victory over the Florida Panthers on Friday night due to an apparent upper-body injury. As a result, the Bruins were without their top two centers since Patrice Bergeron was also unable to play and didn’t make the trip to Florida with the team.

According to Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery, Krejci’s participation in Game 4 on Sunday afternoon is 50-50 following his team’s 4-2 victory. Krejci appeared in the first two games of this Round 1 series in Boston but missed the final six games of the regular season, which could indicate things could still be lingering with his injury.

Patrice Bergeron Injury Update

Montgomery also made a statement on Friday morning that Bergeron is “likely” to make a comeback in Game 5 next Wednesday. Since leaving Boston’s regular-season finale against Montreal on April 13 due to an upper-body injury, Bergeron has not participated in a game. The Bruins at the time cited Bergeron’s early departure as “precautionary.”

Since then, Bergeron has been absent from three consecutive playoff games and has not participated in a full-team practice. However, during conditioning sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, the 37-year-old forward did skate with Boston’s skills staff.

Given that Bergeron and Krejci could not play in Game 3, Charlie Coyle and Pavel Zacha were the first and second-line centers. Game 4’s puck drop will be on Sunday evening at 3:30.
